Con Edison provides steam service in NYC not for hospitals or industrial cleaning, but so that people can take moody urban photos.

This particular steam line has been in some state of leak and repair since at least 2009. The Empire State Building must be paying someone to keep it like this. Or maybe the TV and film industry has a hand in this.
